  • What time zone is used in Uruguay?Abrir o Cerrar
    The international standard that is used to tell the time is UTC (Universal Time Coordinated). All time used in Uruguay from March to October is UTC-3, while the months that span from the first Sunday in October until the second Sunday in March use UTC-2. Changing an hour in summer is done in order to take advantage of natural light and save energy.

  • What time do businesses open?Abrir o Cerrar

    Businesses are generally open Monday to Friday from 9:30 until 19:30 and on Saturdays from 9:00 until 13:00.  The commercial centers, such as shopping malls, are open from 10:00 until 22:00 every day including Saturday and Sunday. Public Services generally attend to the public Monday to Friday from 9:00 until 17:00. The majority of banks are open to the public from 13:00 until 17:00.
