In the latter is the Santa Teresa National Park, consisting of three thousand hectares and two million trees with species from the five continents and extensive gardens. The latter is internationally recognized as one of the largest man-made parks in the world. Within the grounds it is possible to visit the Santa Teresa Fortress, which dates back to 1762, when the Portuguese, foreseeing a new conflict with Spain, decided to fortify a narrow strip of land between the ocean and the Black Lagoon. Within this singular monument there are museum spaces that bear witness to centuries of history.\r\nThe Cerro Chato or El Barco beaches are preferred by families because they are quieter, while La Moza is chosen by the youngest visitors because it has a parador and several nearby services such as barbecue, ice-cream parlor and supermarket.","primary_image":"[{\"id\":360,\"url\":\"https:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/parque-nacional-santa-teresa-050718100-1458440238.jpg\"}]","secondary_image":"[]","gallery_images":"[{\"id\":2736,\"url\":\"http:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Santa-Teresa-01.png\"},{\"id\":2737,\"url\":\"http:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Santa-Teresa-02.png\"},{\"id\":2738,\"url\":\"http:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Santa-Teresa-03.png\"},{\"id\":2739,\"url\":\"http:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Santa-Teresa-04.png\"},{\"id\":2740,\"url\":\"http:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Santa-Teresa-05.png\"},{\"id\":2741,\"url\":\"http:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Santa-Teresa-06.png\"},{\"id\":2742,\"url\":\"http:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Santa-Teresa-07.png\"},{\"id\":2743,\"url\":\"http:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Santa-Teresa-08.png\"}]","enable_map":"1","coord_lat":"","coord_lng":"","locations":"-33.99530436086953,-53.54808379728801","department":"Rocha","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/places\/359","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/places"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/places"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=359"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"place-categories","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/place-categories?post=359"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
