It originated from the arrival of the railroad to Mercedes in the early twentieth century, and its inhabitants are currently implementing an innovative tourism project called \"Discover Santa Catalina\", which won the Tourist Town Award organized by the Ministry of Tourism in its second edition of 2014.\r\nWithin the framework of this award, the neighbors recovered the old Santa Catalina railroad station, today a visitors' center called \"Sobre Rieles\" (On Rails), which offers different services and from where tourist activities in the town can be coordinated. Visitors can choose different proposals of tourist interest such as a guided visit to the Santa Catalina ranch, bicycle rides, carriage rides, horseback rides and a tour of the most interesting historical sites.<\/article>\r\n

Cat Pantheon<\/h4>\r\nStone and wire monument made by an inhabitant of the town, named Rufino V\u00e1zquez (1919-1982), in the vicinity of his home. There he buried his pets, accompanying them with their life stories or drawings of his own authorship.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n

St. Rose of Lima Chapel<\/h4>\r\nIt was built at the beginning of the XX century in a property donated by Eusebio Odriozola Lidi and it is estimated that the work was completed in 1912. The singularity of this village chapel is that the devotees and visitors can register their petitions and gratitude to the virgin of Santa Rosa, patron saint of America, in the notebook that is there.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/article><\/div>\r\n
