The motivations are several: the tranquility of its beaches, the recreational alternatives of its center, its wide hotel offer and the multiple tours serve as a sample.","description":"The spa is the son of a visionary who left a unique imprint. Extensive beaches and high hills compete for prominence and generate ideal environments for relaxation.\r\nPiri\u00e1polis is the daughter of a visionary and his condition as such is reflected in each of its corners. It was founded in 1893, at the height of the Belle \u00c9poque, by Francisco Piria, businessman, alchemist and character if there is one, who originally named it Balneario del Porvenir, a name that over time would become a sentence. In it, extensive beaches and high hills dispute protagonism, creating an ideal environment for rest.\r\n\r\nThe city has the merit of having arisen from a meticulous planning to attract the Uruguayan and Argentine aristocracy of the end of the 19th century.\r\nGetting to know it closely usually entails the need to delve into its history, its symbols, its traditions and the richness of its past that gives it a unique identity in the present.\r\nPiri\u00e1polis has magnificent buildings such as an extensive waterfront promenade, a replica of the French Biarritz, the gigantic Argentino Hotel, which for many years was the largest in South America, and the enigmatic Piria Castle.\r\n\r\nIts beaches are located along a strip of 25 kilometers of coastline, from the Sol\u00eds stream to Punta Negra. All of them, of white sands and clean waters, receive every summer thousands of Uruguayan, Argentinean and European tourists. Towards the west some of the most attractive are: Playa Grande, Playa Verde, Playa Hermosa, Las Flores and Bella Vista.\r\n\r\nPiriapolis offers a wide range of entertainment options for all tastes: parks, water sports, chairlifts, hiking circuits, rappel, horseback riding are just some of the alternatives that combine with convenient gastronomic and hotel options. The resort also has vast scenarios for sport fishing. In addition to the local port and its breakwaters, there are points such as Punta Fr\u00eda, Punta Colorada and Punta Negra, ideal for fishing corvinas and pejerreyes.\r\n\r\nIn short, Piri\u00e1polis has the magic of being both ancient and modern at the same time. Its hills, wide boulevards and dreamy beaches seem to have been pampered by the passage of time.","primary_image":"[{\"id\":4231,\"url\":\"https:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/PiriaPuerto-WEB.jpg\"}]","secondary_image":"[{\"id\":4233,\"url\":\"http:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/PiriaPuerto-Cabezal.jpg\"}]","gallery_images":"[{\"id\":3113,\"url\":\"http:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Piriapolis-scaled.jpg\"},{\"id\":3075,\"url\":\"http:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/DSC_0118.jpg\"},{\"id\":3074,\"url\":\"http:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/DSC_0127-scaled.jpg\"},{\"id\":3073,\"url\":\"http:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/DSC_0112-scaled.jpg\"},{\"id\":3055,\"url\":\"http:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Piria2-scaled.jpg\"},{\"id\":3053,\"url\":\"http:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/DSC_0868-scaled.jpg\"},{\"id\":3051,\"url\":\"http:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Piria-scaled.jpg\"}]","enable_map":"1","coord_lat":"","coord_lng":"","locations":"-34.867172362928834,-55.274486417954535","department":"Maldonado","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/places\/2528","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/places"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/places"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2528"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"place-categories","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/uruguaynatural.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/place-categories?post=2528"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
